We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer or Data Analyst to join our Regulatory Technology (RegTech) team, which focuses on ensuring compliance with financial regulations through advanced data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience in banking data domains, and an understanding of regulatory reporting requirements such as Basel III, AML, FATCA, CRS, and MiFID.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze structured and unstructured financial data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Generate reports and dashboards for internal and regulatory stakeholders.
- Map and validate data flows from source systems to regulatory reporting platforms.
Data Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ETL/ELT workflows.
- Optimize SQL queries and data models to improve performance and accuracy.
- Automate reporting and data validation processes using Python, SQL, or other scripting tools.
Regulatory Compliance & Auditing
- Work closely with compliance teams to support regulatory reporting (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, DFAST, EMIR).
- Ensure data quality, completeness, and accuracy for audit and regulatory needs.
- Maintain traceability of data lineage from source to report.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business users, data governance teams, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Provide data insights and visualizations to risk, compliance, and audit teams using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL (writing complex queries, procedures, optimization)
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Alteryx, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python or R for data processing and automation
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
- Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Regulatory/Banking Experience (Preferred):
- Exposure to banking regulations (Basel, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, FATCA, etc.)
- Knowledge of financial instruments, KYC/AML, and core banking systems
- Experience working in Risk/Compliance/RegTech environments
