Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support data engineering and platform modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Python, and Unix, along with a solid background in ETL development and data warehousing concepts. This role requires the ability to guide technical teams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of data solutions within Snowflake and OpenSystem environments.
- Develop robust Python scripts and applications for data processing, automation, and system integration.
- Work extensively with Unix/Linux systems for scripting, automation, and system monitoring.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of data projects.
- Drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment across the team.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance to junior developers.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, technical standards, and security/compliance requirements.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, SQL, pipelines).
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data engineering tasks.
- Solid experience with Unix/Linux platforms and shell scripting.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with ETL development using modern ETL/ELT tools.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10 years of overall IT experience.
- Proven hands-on experience in Snowflake, Python, and ETL processes.
- Preferred certifications in Python and Unix scripting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
