Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanics have responsibilities to maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters, such as electrical controls, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. This person will perform medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair Including Auger Fillers, Grinders Conveyors, Gear Motor, Ink jet system, Vertical labeling and Sealer.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on pharmaceutical production machinery, conveyors, and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manual techniques and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and engage with system.
  • Lubricate, clean, and adjust components to maintain proper functionality and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to troubleshoot and conduct on-the-spot repairs, aiming to minimize production disruptions.
  • Order and replace damaged or faulty parts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements.
  • Document procedures, checklists, and maintenance logs to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Read and work from electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including lockout/tagout.
  • Troubleshoots, tests, repairs, and calibrates AC/DC electrical systems, industrial controls (both analog and digital), and associated wiring up to 480 volts.
  • Understand basics of electrical control circuits, VFDs, drives, controls, etc.
  • Document procedures, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Record or document the results of the measurement on the appropriate forms.
  • Perform escalation to management if actions are unable to achieve specification.
  • Execute these tasks efficiently and promptly to consistently meet daily production goals.
  • Overhaul existing equipment and install new machinery as required.
  • Observe a good and professional relationship with others (internal and external) while in promises.
  • Perform maintenance tasks in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Background:

  • Mechanical knowledge (3 years preferred)
  • Electrical knowledge (3 years preferred)
  • Formal education in Electronics, Maintenance, Controls (preferred)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in application and troubleshooting of Micro, Limit, Proximity, and Photoelectric switches. Inductive and Capacitive Sensors, and various types of Level Controls.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems relevant to manufacturing machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and report maintenance activities.
  • Must know LO/TO.
  • Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment.
  • Understanding of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods.
  • Basic work experience in pharmaceutical food manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Available to work flexible, weekend hours due to production demand.
  • MSDS; GMP's; PPE; HACCP; Quality and Sanitation requirements guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting
  • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at times
  • Push, bend, reach and pull occasionally.
  • Able to work in cold and hot temperatures.
