Position Overview: We are seeking a Generator Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for new generator installs, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all equipment meets safety and operational standards. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical skills, and the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance on air cooled and liquid cooled generators to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator performance issues using specialized tools and techniques
- Install new home standby generators
- Provide high quality customer service and engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used
- Collaborate with office staff to schedule daily service appointments with clients
- Emergency after hours on-call rotation as needed to service non-functioning generators
- Participate in continued education and certifications on new and existing generator products
Certification- Training for Air Cooled and Liquid cooled generators is required. We will provide training if needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Proven experience as a generator technician or similar role in the mechanical or electrical field
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, engines, and generator operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in diagnosing issues
- Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call as required to meet customer needs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
