What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Services & Field Technician position at 36 North Collective?
About the Opportunity
36 North Collective is a small, growing property and project services company serving Northwest Arkansas. We are looking for a dependable, skilled independent individual to assist with property services, field service calls, and other hands-on projects on an as-needed basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is self-employed, already works a flexible job, operates their own small service business, or simply has daytime availability and would like additional project work.
Projects are offered individually based on our current workload. You are free to accept or decline projects based on your availability. Some work is scheduled several days in advance, while other service calls may be offered for same-day completion.
Most opportunities occur Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with occasional weekend work.
Types of Projects
Work will vary and may include:
- Property maintenance and general property services
- Minor repairs and handyman-type projects
- Fixture, hardware and shelving installation
- TV, artwork, mirror and window-treatment installation
- Punch-list and property improvement work
- Irrigation service and repair assistance
- Landscape and exterior property projects
- Fiber internet installations and service calls — training can be provided
- Troubleshooting service issues
- Other construction/property-related projects based on experience
Irrigation experience is a major plus, as this is an area of 36 North that we are actively expanding.
Who We're Looking For
We are a small company and need someone who can be trusted to represent 36 North professionally and complete accepted projects with minimal oversight.
The right contractor will be dependable, responsive, comfortable working independently, able to troubleshoot problems in the field, experienced with basic hand and power tools, and professional when interacting with customers.
Property maintenance, construction, irrigation, landscaping, low-voltage/fiber, facilities maintenance, or similar hands-on experience is preferred.
You should also have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling to project locations throughout Northwest Arkansas.
How the Work Is Structured
This currently is not a guaranteed-hours position.
Some weeks may have multiple opportunities, while others may have limited or no available projects.
Compensation
Pay starts at $18 hour
We are willing to pay competitively for someone who is experienced, dependable, works efficiently, and can successfully complete projects without constant supervision.
Opportunity to Grow With 36 North
While this opportunity begins as project-based work, we are looking for someone who could potentially grow with us into a leadership role.
36 North is actively developing its Property Services and Irrigation divisions, and our goal is to build enough recurring work to support additional permanent team members.
For the right person, there may eventually be an opportunity to transition into a regular full-time employee position, particularly as our irrigation service, maintenance, and installation business grows.
Someone with irrigation experience—or a strong interest in learning and developing those skills—would be especially valuable.
To Apply
Please tell us a little about:
- Your current work and general availability
- Your property maintenance/construction experience
- Types of projects you're comfortable completing independently
- Any irrigation, landscaping, fiber/low-voltage, or service experience
- Whether you currently perform work for yourself or other companies

We're less concerned with having experience in every service we offer and more interested in finding someone who is dependable, capable, professional, and willing to learn.
