POSITION SUMMARY
The Executive Sous Chef is a highly skilled and creative individual who reports directly to the Executive Chef.
LOCATION: Greenport, NY
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning, development, and execution.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality and consistency in food preparation.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
- Adhere to organizational standards and existing systems, while always looking to improve upon them when necessary.
- Contribute to the creation of innovative and seasonal dishes.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience of three years.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences.
- Knowledge of local, seasonal, Mediterranean ingredients.
- Computer literacy including Google Drive, Sheets, Inventory Software, and POS.
