Auto Body Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will have experience in auto body repair, vehicle restoration, and auto painting, with a strong background in using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques. This role involves repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition, ensuring quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Prior experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued for this position.

Duties

• Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work
• Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying equipment and touch-up techniques
• Utilize MIG welding, soldering, and other welding methods for structural repairs
• Fabricate and modify parts using sheet metal and fabrication tools as needed
• Replace or repair auto glass with precision and care
• Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as mechanical repairs and assembly of components
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality specifications
• Assist with auto restoration projects to bring classic or damaged vehicles back to showroom condition
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently for various repair tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair progress and addressing customer concerns

Qualifications

• Proven experience or extensive background in auto body repair preferred
• Proficiency in MIG welding, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
• Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and auto body repair equipment
• Experience with auto painting, auto glass replacement, and auto estimating is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on vehicles of varying sizes
• Knowledge of sheet metal work, auto restoration, detailing, and automotive repair processes
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
• If limited knowledge of above, the ability to learn from ones peers in areas they are unfamiliar with (On Job Training available in some cases)
