Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in seating requests efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Open Table.
- Answer phone calls with proper phone etiquette, assisting with reservations, inquiries, and waitlist management
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest comfort
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness in the host station and adhering to hygiene protocols
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest flow and timely seating
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Toast
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlists, and billing procedures
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
