Position OverviewWe are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Math Tutor to join our educational team in Santa Monica, CA. This role focuses on providing individualized and small-group math instruction across multiple grade levels, helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop strong problem-solving strategies. University-level coursework or experience in mathematics is preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach a range of mathematical subjects, including Geometry, Algebra I & II, Precalculus, and Calculus, ensuring clarity and comprehension for all students.Break down complex mathematical concepts into clear, approachable steps tailored to each student’s learning style and academic needs.Assess student understanding on an ongoing basis and adjust instruction to address gaps, reinforce skills, and promote mastery.Support students with homework, test preparation, and long-term skill development.Create a positive, encouraging learning environment that builds confidence and fosters independent thinking.Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding progress and goals, as needed. QualificationsBachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Mathematics or Education or related field Prior teaching experience, ideally at the university or secondary level, is highly desirable, but not required.Strong command of mathematical principles and the ability to explain complex topics clearly and accessibly.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for motivating and engaging students.Proficiency in educational technology and online teaching tools.A genuine passion for teaching mathematics and supporting student success.Undergraduate students encouraged to apply!
