Internship currently offered at the Grand Forks Herald
Spring or Summer internship for news reporting, sports reporting, photography
and digital media production. Duration: 15 weeks or longer, depending on
circumstances and availability.
About the program
Herald interns have the opportunity to learn on-the-job skills in a fast-paced
environment.
● In addition to covering breaking news, reporters will be encouraged to dig for stories
and produce thorough, thoughtful work.
● Sports reporters will be thrown into the mix on game coverage and get a chance to
craft features.
● Photographers will step in as a regular member of the rotation, taking photos for the
news, sports and features.
● Digital media producers will work alongside professionals to create and deliver
high-quality, unique content that’s relevant to readers.
Who we’re looking for
Ideal candidates will possess strong writing and communication skills, will be
comfortable working under deadline pressure and understand the importance of timely
multimedia reporting. They will be willing to work with editors, take direction and work
independently. They must relate to people in the community and handle sensitive and
emotional situations.
