What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at 30A Vet?
30A Vet is seeking an experienced veterinary technician. We are looking for a positive, motivated, upbeat team player. We prefer some experience and will continue training anyone willing to learn.
We are open 5 days a week and need someone who is flexible, dedicated, and is willing to learn and grow with the clinic.
Duties include:
- Pulling/running blood work
- Placing IV Catheters
- Performing nail trims/ear cleanings, etc.
- Must be comfortable restraining and working with aggressive patients.
- Gathering patient history from clients and assisting Doctors in rooms with patients.
- Running diagnostic testing on blood, urine, stool, and other samples.
- Helping Doctors with notes and completing vitals
- Discussing medications and discharge instructions with owner
- Educating clients on their pets health and needs
- Administering vaccinations, fluids, and medications.
- Calculating dosage of medications.
- Caring for hospitalized patients.
- Prepping patients for surgery, monitoring anesthesia and post-surgery clean up.
- Other miscellaneous duties within the clinic include: assisting with the phones, checking patients and clients in and out, calling in prescriptions and keeping the clinic orderly, clean, and stocked.
Pay is depending on experience.
