Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures
- Take patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and medications
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient referrals
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Provide administrative support such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficient in medication administration and basic laboratory procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for providing patient care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Basic computer skills for medical administrative support
