About the role We are looking for Fixed Plant Operators, to operate equipment including monitoring and inspections in a safe and efficient manner. This is a great opportunity for experienced, driven and safety focused Fixed Plant Operators to join Rio on a permanent full-time basis with a family friendly 8:6 roster. Reporting to the Supervisor Plant Operations and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Fixed Plant – Operations you will be: Operate fixed plant assets, carry out routine inspections and conduct manual handling associated with basic maintenance and inspection of the plant Conduct routine activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of assets, including undertaking basic fault find and diagnosis Work in the field, monitoring equipment, cleaning, hosing and identifying continuous improvement opportunities Operate mobile plant equipment as required by your leader Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices About you A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Demonstrated experience operating fixed plant Experience operating mobile plant equipment (desirable) Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements Previous mining experience working in the field, monitoring equipment and operating fixed plant assets.
