Job Description Summary Under limited supervision, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, SEC filings, and other financial analysis reports, and to analyze SEC reporting related issues and disclosure requirements. Limited guidance is provided to perform varied, complex accounting functions. Evaluation, originality and ingenuity are required to locate, select and apply appropriate procedures, processes and techniques to specific assignments. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Regular contact with senior management and other internal customers is required to identify, research, and resolve accounting and SEC reporting issues and problems. Facilitates the establishment and update of SEC reporting policies and procedures. Acts as a consultant to internal groups on complex SEC reporting matters, and performs research on SEC reporting issues. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Uses financial reporting accounting software to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports. Researches and makes recommendations to resolve unusual or irregular transactions. Responds to internal/external auditor request and inquiries and coordinates with internal and external auditors on accounting issues. Researches issues regarding SEC disclosures of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Follow new and emerging SEC reporting accounting guidance, as well as evaluate potential impacts on reporting. Support and facilitate implementation of SEC reporting disclosures Identifies and recommends process improvements to increase efficiency in processing or analyzing financial information. Facilitate implementation of changes to the financial statements and SEC Filings, as required. Provide additional ad-hoc support across financial reporting and performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Prepares quarterly board reports and financial presentations. Prepares other reports of financial information for management. Prepares reporting packages containing supporting documentation for external reporting and SEC disclosures. Supports the team with the preparation of monthly journal entries related to certain transactions. Supports the team during the annual filings of standalone financial statements and other required reports. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Advanced accounting concepts, practices and procedures. Accrual based accounting practices. Accounting software packages. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). SEC rules Skill in Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing financial statements. Researching U.S. GAAP & SEC reporting disclosure requirements. Preparing financial statements and management reports. Analyzing and proposing solutions to unusual transactions. Promoting effective coordination within financial reporting and with and other functional areas. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets and complex databases. Ability to Implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances. Make independent decisions and solve more complex accounting problems. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. Explain or clarify financial information to all levels of management. Provide training to others. Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Provide a high level of customer service.
