Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support inventory management through stock checks and merchandising tasks as needed
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for growth opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately during transactions
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and product demos is beneficial
