Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and experienced Canine Caregiver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, the ability to provide exceptional care for dogs in an outdoor farm settings, and experience handling dogs of different breeds, sizes and temperaments. This role involves ensuring the well-being of the dogs on site, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and delivering outstanding customer service to dog guardians.

Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs with attention and enthusiasm, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Monitor the health and behavior of dogs on site, reporting any concerns immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness in dog areas, including kennels and play areas.
- Assist with dog training and behavioral assessments when necessary.
- Administer medications as directed by dog owners or veterinarians.
- Engage with dog owners to provide updates on their dogs' well-being and address any questions or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other kennel staff regarding dog heath and behavior, client's wishes, and execution of duties.
- Handle dogs safely and effectively, frequently in group situations, and utilize proper safety techniques when required.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed for larger dogs or equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or handling is a must, such as in kennel or veterinary settings, or extensive animal training.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with veterinary practices or having veterinary technician experience is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs.
- Ability to perform simple grooming tasks as required.
- Capability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently.
- A commitment to providing high-quality care for all animals in your charge.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Short-notice availability is ideal.
- Willingness to work outside in sometimes adverse weather conditions is essential.
