What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Finance position at 3 Bridge Networks?
We are partnering with a private equity–backed operating company to recruit a VP Finance to serve as the company’s senior finance leader, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is designed as a true “mini‑CFO”, with broad ownership across finance and a clear path to becoming CFO over time.
The business is an asset‑heavy, services‑driven operating company with complex operations, meaningful capital investment, and an engaged private equity sponsor. This is a highly visible leadership role with real decision‑making authority and direct exposure to the CEO, board, and sponsor.
Role Overview
The VP Finance will be responsible for leading the finance function end‑to‑end, including FP&A, accounting oversight, cash management, capital allocation, and strategic financial planning. This individual will act as the CEO’s primary financial partner and help guide the company through its next phase of growth and professionalization.
This is not a narrow FP&A role. The successful candidate will be comfortable owning the numbers, managing cash and risk, and helping run the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior finance leader and primary financial partner to the CEO
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning with a strong emphasis on cash flow and liquidity
- Oversee FP&A and partner closely with accounting and the Controller to ensure accurate, timely close and reporting
- Lead cash forecasting, working capital management, and debt covenant monitoring
- Drive capital allocation decisions, including ROI analysis for major capital investments and operating initiatives
- Prepare and present financial materials for executive leadership, the board, and the private equity sponsor
- Support strategic initiatives, including growth projects, operational improvements, and M&A as applicable
- Strengthen financial discipline, controls, reporting, and scalable processes across the organization
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team; upgrade talent and structure as needed
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial and operational decision‑making
Ideal Background
- 12 years of progressive finance experience within operating companies
- Experience in PE‑backed businesses, industrials, infrastructure, construction, logistics, manufacturing, or other asset‑heavy environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to operate as a senior finance leader or deputy to a CFO
- Strong blend of FP&A and accounting leadership; comfortable owning financial results, not just analysis
- Deep experience with cash flow management, capital investments, and working capital
- Experience interfacing with CEOs, boards, lenders, auditors, and private equity sponsors
- Hands‑on, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to operate in a fast‑moving, operationally complex environment
