About the Job
2nd Mile Horse Transportation provides professional equine transport throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Kentucky, using flatbed trucks with gooseneck trailers. We are adding a full-time driver ahead of our busy season, which runs from November through May.
Routes are over-the-road, with trips typically lasting about one week. We schedule return loads to keep equipment productive and minimize empty miles. From June through October, our work shifts to shorter, primarily Kentucky-based runs, which allows drivers to be home more frequently.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and committed to the careful, humane handling of the animals in our care.
What We Offer
- Salary of $60,000 to $65,000, steady all year, not just in busy months
- $60 per night per diem, tax-free, on top of your salary
- Lodging paid by the company while you’re on the road

- $2,000 signing bonus, paid in installments
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 21 years old
- Clean driving record
- Current DOT medical card
- Ability to pass a drug test and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
- Willingness to be on the road about a week at a time during busy season
Preferred
- Experience with flatbed or gooseneck trailers
- Horse-handling experience
