Child Care Worker
IMMEDIATE AVAILABLE SHIFT:
Weekend- Saturday 7am-3pm, Sunday 7am-3pm, Thursday 2pm-10pm= 24 hrs per week or
Saturday 7am-3pm, Sunday 7am-3pm, Tuesday 2pm-10pm, Wednesday 1pm-9pm, Thursday 2pm-10pm = 40 hrs per week
Are you looking to make a difference? We are seeking a Child Care Worker to join our team! 2nd Home, Inc. is a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program specializing in the treatment of children that require intensive residential services. We serve children ages 6 to 12 with mental health issues, histories of trauma, and/or developmental disabilities. 2nd Home serves children, including cisgender and transgender children with any gender expression.
Responsibilities and Duties
Contribute to the effectiveness of the program by supervising the children individually as well as in group settings. Oversee daily schedules for the children including final preparation and serving of meals and snacks, supervise daily activities as well as observing behaviors and administering consequences and enforce positive/appropriate behavior by rewarding or recognizing the child consistently to provide guidance and direction. Transport the children as required to all appointments and activities ensuring proper notification to Managers immediately should any issues or missed appointments arise. Contribute to the success of the program by accurately tracking the child’s progress, ensuring proper documentation. 24-hour supervision (supervision at all times, including both hearing and seeing all interaction and activities; including a staff posted in the hallway when children are awake but in bed and/or bedrooms, and bed checks every 15 minutes when children are asleep). Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including meal preparation for the following day as well as encouraging the children’s involvement when age appropriate.
SUPPORTIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in meetings with staff and the treatment team, providing information and reports as required. Participate in all necessary training sessions. Participate with the treatment team identifying areas that may require intervention. Provide crisis and information response for facility. Facilitate in providing a healthy sexual development of the children, including reproductive health services and rights. Ensure supportive, nurturing, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must pass all background clearance. Qualify for the position by meeting the following qualifications
Have a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree
