Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive electrical systems and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy equipment mechanics tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Work on diesel engines and heavy equipment as needed, applying specialized knowledge in diesel engine repair and auto body repair when required.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership settings preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and mechanical systems repair.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto estimating, GM vehicles familiarity is a plus.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools for automotive diagnostics and ability to read schematics accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with vehicle maintenance procedures such as oil changes and tire services.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools safely and effectively.
