We're HIRING!The Demolition Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate bids and proposals for demolition and asbestos abatement projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge of demolition methods, hazardous material handling, local regulations in California, and cost estimating practices.Key Responsibilities• Review construction documents, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop complete scope and bid strategies• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for demolition, selective demolition, saw cutting, hazardous material removal, and asbestos abatement• Prepare cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, disposal fees, subcontractor pricing, and risk considerations• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to validate project approach and production rates• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes and ensure compliance with project requirements• Participate in pre bid meetings, walk throughs, and site inspections• Prepare written proposals, bid packages, and schedules• Track bid performance, maintain estimating logs, and support continuous improvement of pricing templates• Ensure all estimates comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations• Support handoff meetings to project management teams after award of projectsQualifications• Experience as an estimator within demolition or abatement contracting• Strong understanding of demolition methods, equipment, and hazardous material handling• Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift• Knowledge of Cal OSHA, AQMD, and other local environmental and safety regulations• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail• Effective communication and collaboration skills• Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site visits across San Diego CountyWhat’s In It For You• Competitive base salary with strong bonus potential tied to project wins• Steady pipeline of demolition and asbestos abatement projects across San Diego• Supportive estimating team with clear advancement opportunities into senior roles• Company provided truck or vehicle allowance for site visits• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan• Paid training, certifications, and continued education for asbestos and hazardous materials• A stable and growing contractor that values safety, accuracy, and teamwork
