Engineering Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary: The Engineering Manager leads the team responsible for the design, development, and validation of all 2G products across software, firmware, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. This role ensures that people, processes, and work outputs follow engineering best practices and maintain compliance with AS9100 standards and the organization's Quality Management System. The Engineering Manager drives execution of the engineering roadmap, supports new product introduction activities, and partners cross-functionally to ensure product readiness for production and customer use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties reflect the core expectations of the role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on organizational needs.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage all design, development, and validation activities following the company’s gated development process and engineering workflow.
- Facilitate design reviews, document outcomes, and ensure accurate and complete Bills of Materials for all product releases.
- Ensure adherence to AS9100 standards and Quality Management System requirements within engineering processes and documentation.
- Develop and implement engineering policies, standards, and procedures to support consistent, high quality design practices.
- Plan and allocate engineering resources, guide daily and long term work, and ensure projects have the staffing and technical support needed to meet objectives.
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and professional development to engineering staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring and onboarding activities.
- Address performance issues constructively, identify root causes, and implement resolutions.
- Create and maintain training programs related to engineering best practices, design controls, and product development.
- Support Sales in estimating engineering effort for quotations and lead the creation of product datasheets and customer facing technical material.
- Oversee verification and validation activities for new product designs, including development of test plans, requirements, and test fixtures.
- Provide technical support during customer meetings and collaborate closely with customers on product requirements and technical inquiries.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to design, quality, engineering throughput, and cost reduction.
- Maintain engineering documentation and ensure configuration management and traceability standards are met for all released products.
Experience/Education/Licenses/Certifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field
- Working knowledge of Solidworks or equivalent software
- Experience using a Product Data Management system
- 4 years experience managing a team of technical staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and customer documentation.
- Ability to present technical information clearly to managers, customers, and cross functional teams.
- Skilled in solving practical engineering problems and working with variables that may lack clear standardization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and Adobe tools.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
