Summary:

Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting product builds. This includes assemblies such as cables, wire harnesses, PCBA’s, box builds, and turnkey products according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and equipment to ensure the products being manufactured meet the highest of quality expectations.

Qualifications:

Education

Preferred - Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or scientific field or certifications in areas which relate to the manufacturing environment

Required – High School Diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma)

Familiarity and use of electrical testing equipment, hand and measuring tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform general product assembly tasks such as fitting parts together, driving screws, applying labels, and cleaning parts/assemblies
  • Perform cable assembly tasks, including cutting, stripping, crimping, and soldering wires according to work instructions, workflows and schematics.
  • Accurately track task labor on various projects
  • Assemble cables and terminate connectors by connecting wires, cables, and connectors using soldering irons, crimpers, and other hand tools. Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and wiring configurations.
  • Conduct quality inspections of assembled product to verify conformance to specification.
  • Test assembled product using electrical testing equipment to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product assemblies, such as wiring errors, loose connections, defective components, or identifying ill-fitting components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify process improvements and implement bestpractices for cable assembly.

The Assembly Technician works in a manufacturing or production environment, often in a workshop or assembly line setting. The role may involve exposure to electrical equipment, soldering fumes, and noise from machinery. Repetitive movements sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn where required.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
