Server / Assistant Sommelier
2941 Restaurant | Falls Church, Virginia
2941 Restaurant is seeking a Server / Assistant Sommelier who loves creating memorable dining experiences and sharing wine with guests. This role combines attentive, polished service with hands-on support for our wine program.
What you’ll do
- Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful food and wine recommendations.
- Provide warm, precise service throughout each guest’s visit.
- Assist the Wine Director with wine service, pairings, and guest questions.
- Help maintain the wine list, organize inventory, and ensure bottles are stored and presented properly.
- Share wine knowledge with the service team and help colleagues grow their confidence.
- Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and management to deliver a seamless experience.
What we’re looking for
- Fine dining serving experience and a strong foundation in wine.
- Confidence opening, presenting, and serving wine at the table.
- Curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in hospitality.
- The ability to explain wine clearly and comfortably, without making guests feel intimidated.
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
Sommelier certification is welcome but not required. We value practical knowledge, a willingness to learn, and the ability to connect with guests.
