Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The role of Freight Broker is a critically important role to the overall success of the organization. As a customer focused services company, you ensure that the customer’s expectations are met each and every day. You are an advocate for the internal and external customer and are focused on ensuring they have a great experience every time they interact with 28Freight and its subsidiaries by effectively brokering loads to qualified third-party carriers.
- Reports to: Brokerage Manager
- Primary Operating Unit: Brokerage & Logistics
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide customers with the most efficient and safe mode of transportation
- Grow new and existing business utilizing all services available
- Maximize relationships with carriers and account managers/customers utilizing personal contacts, networking, and strong price negotiations to grow sustainable and profitable business relationships
- Increase revenues and improve profitability
- Utilize and maintain company tools, like the TMS, RMIS, and CRM
- Anticipate service impacts and implement solutions
- Communicate with Customer Service concerning ETA & availability
- Have a knowledge of all 28Freight services
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements·
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, TMS systems, EDI systems, etc.)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standard
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
