The Position The Vice President of Commercial Enablement & Strategy is responsible for ensuring Roche Diagnostics Corporation (RDC) is best positioned to deliver on its business objectives by establishing clear strategic priorities, driving execution effectiveness, and spearheading innovation across the organization. This role will work closely with the office of the President and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America, and is empowered to optimize how the US Organization operates through the identification and prioritization of key initiatives in the areas of strategy, innovation, processes, systems and tools. This role will lead through influence and form strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to not only ensure organization alignment on key US priorities but also ensure the US Organization delivers on organizational goals. This role will lead and drive complex cross-functional teams, and as necessary, provide matrixed leadership to the broader US Organization and is comprised of a variety of functions including Market Analysis & Strategy, Commercial Strategy, Commercial Training and Development, Commercial Insights, Customer Engagement, Sales Enablement, Digital and Social Media. Qualified candidates will be high performing and high potential Commercial leaders with a solid track record in stakeholder management, innovative commercial strategy, and delivering compelling results within a diagnostics commercial context. Direct report to the CEO of RDC and a member of the US Lead Team; and, as such, have leadership responsibilities that extend beyond Commercial Enablement & Strategy and require general business leadership and contributions to the overall strategy and development of RDC. This role will collaborate with the US Lead Team and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the strategic and operational aspects of the Commercial business. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (required): Contributing leadership skills and expertise to the strategic and business planning processes Lead development of 5-year RDC strategy and annual RDC strategy refresh through close partnership with the US Leadership Team (USLT) Lead commercial execution of several enterprise functions in support of commercial objectives including Commercial Training and Development, Commercial Insights, Customer Engagement, Sales Enablement, Digital and Social Media Identifies and drives development and implementation of strategic priorities for RDC through cross-functional efforts Ensure coordination of strategic initiatives across RDC to leverage synergies, identify interdependencies and avoid duplication of efforts Drive key strategic initiatives across RDC and provide thought leadership and advice to guide these projects to ensure progress and impact are realized Ultimate accountability for the quality and continuity of all forecasts and business plans Support President and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America in preparation for global business reviews and communications Sets a high standard for quantitative rigor and analytical talent and ensuring Commercial Enablement & Strategy remains a center of analytical excellence within the RDC commercial operations Contributing leadership skills and expertise in developing and implementing best-in-class Commercial Enablement and Strategy operations and services, such as training & development, operational efficiencies, compliance policies, procedures and education, marketing and sales services, meeting and convention services, analytics, promotional effectiveness and ROI analysis, etc. Building and developing an exceptional, high-performing team by anticipating changes in the business and implications from such to organizational design and talent Ensuring a strong succession plan for key positions across the Commercial Enablement & Strategy organization Creating and sustaining a stimulating environment where sales and profit grow in line with corporate objectives Defining, setting, aligning and driving execution against the long-range vision, strategy and plan for RDC Contributing to RDC business strategies by identifying and overseeing execution of innovations or other enhancements for breakthrough opportunities for all products and therapeutic areas. KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES (required): The minimum education, knowledge, experience, skills and attributes required to perform the essential functions of this job. Bachelor’s Degree 12 years of progressive commercial leadership experience 10 or more years' people management experience, with at least 10 years of experience and a track record in senior program management Considerable experience and expertise in long-range strategic planning, market research, and competitive intelligence Experience leading function-wide business planning processes, to include development and implementation of such plans, goals and metrics Proven experience leading, organizing and directing large-scale commercial functions including multiple teams and departments Ability to lead and influence in a global matrixed environment Excellent interpersonal skills/highly collaborative Ability to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful culture, organizational structure, and processes Ability to cultivate strong internal/external networks Proven stakeholder management and problem-solving skills Experience in progressive leadership positions in the diagnostic, biotechnology or related industry is strongly preferred Experience leading function-wide business planning processes, to include development and implementation of such plans, goals and metrics Previous accomplishments include developing and overseeing the execution of breakthrough business strategies that have led to considerable growth in financial results and increased in the long-term, sustainable value proposition of the relevant brand(s) Indicate below any additional preferred requirements if applicable (optional): Experience in leading and working with global teams preferred.
