Help People Take Their Next Steps with God

At 2|42 Community Church Saginaw, we believe worship is more than what happens on a Sunday morning. It’s a lifestyle that points people toward Jesus and helps them take their next step with God.

We’re looking for a Worship Pastor who is passionate about Jesus, loves people, and can build a healthy, growing worship and production ministry. This person will help create worship environments where people can encounter God, experience authentic community, and take their next step in their relationship with Him.

This is a part-time pastoral leadership role with responsibility for worship, production, volunteers, team development, and weekend service programming.

What You'll DoLead & Pastor the Worship and Production Teams

• Recruit, shepherd, train, equip, and develop worship and production volunteers.
• Build a healthy team culture centered on Jesus, community, growth, and excellence.
• Help team members identify and take their next steps in both their faith and their ministry gifts.
• Develop leaders who can lead others—not simply fill volunteer positions.
• Create relational opportunities for worship and production team members to connect and grow together.

Lead Worship & Weekend Experiences

• Help plan and execute engaging, Christ-centered weekend services and special events.
• Lead worship regularly through vocals and/or a lead instrument.
• Work alongside the Central Worship Lead in planning and executing worship services.
• Participate in creative planning with the weekend programming team, always considering the person who may be walking through our doors for the first time.
• Help create an environment where both longtime followers of Jesus and people who are far from God can encounter the Gospel.

Build the Ministry

• Develop a clear development pathway for musicians, vocalists, and production volunteers.
• Recruit and train new team members.
• Identify and develop emerging worship and production leaders.
• Help build a sustainable worship ministry that extends beyond Sunday mornings.
• Participate in monthly Arts meetings and other campus and church-wide leadership gatherings.

Manage the Details

• Schedule worship and production teams through Planning Center Online (PCO).
• Maintain accurate volunteer information in Planning Center and other 2|42 systems.
• Create and manage music charts, tracks, and arrangements using tools such as MultiTracks Playback and Planning Center.
• Learn and utilize the production systems necessary to execute excellent weekend services.
• Participate in appropriate administrative and pastoral responsibilities connected to the worship ministry.

What You'll Bring

• A clear and vibrant commitment to following Jesus.
• Previous experience leading worship.
• Ability to sing and play a lead instrument, preferably acoustic guitar and/or keys.
• Strong understanding of worship ministry, music, and service programming.
• Ability to recruit, train, shepherd, and develop volunteers.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of the Bible and a commitment to Scripture.
• Ability and willingness to learn worship and production technology.
• A heart for people who are far from God and a desire to keep them in mind when planning worship experiences.
• A commitment to excellence without losing sight of people.
