Role Overview
The Sourcing Specialist (Toys) supports the Merchandise Sourcing and Product Development team by ensuring accurate, timely, and well-maintained development tracking data across multiple systems. This is a highly execution-focused role that plays a critical part in keeping product development programs on track by serving as a central point of coordination between internal teams and external suppliers.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator who can manage large volumes of information, proactively follow up, and clearly document project status across fast-moving timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product development data within systems such as FlexPLM, Smartsheet, and Workfront
- Track and manage key development milestones, deliverables, and status updates from concept through production readiness
- Proactively follow up with external suppliers to gather missing or outdated information
- Partner with cross-functional teams (sourcing, product design, merchandising, packaging, production, planning) to align on inputs and next steps
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of product attributes, timelines, and documentation across systems
- Identify gaps, risks, or misalignments and escalate issues promptly
- Support continuous improvement of tracking processes, templates, and workflows
Basic Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and data sources simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external suppliers
- High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and completeness
- Comfortable working within structured systems and maintaining disciplined processes
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and follow through on commitments
- Proficiency with collaboration and tracking tools such as PLM systems, Workfront, Smartsheet, or similar platforms (FlexPLM experience is a plus)
- Prior experience supporting sourcing, product development, or supply chain teams especially within toys or consumer products is preferred but not required

- Development tracking systems are accurate, current, and reliable
- Internal teams and suppliers receive timely, clear communication with minimal follow-up required
- Risks and delays are identified and escalated early
- Sourcing teams can focus on strategic work, confident that executional tracking is well managed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FlexPLM, Workfront, and Smartsheet
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Additional Notes:
Experience with FlexPLM is a strong plus; familiarity with a product lifecycle management (PLM) system is required. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and organized individual with strong project management skills, including the ability to plan backward from deadlines to ensure timelines stay on track.
