Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 (flexible, DOE)

My retail apparel client is looking to hire a full-time Senior Technical Designer to join their team in Charlottesville, VA. This is a critical position for their growing brand! This role is based at their headquarters in Charlottesville, VA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile science, or a related field
- 8 years of technical design or product development experience in the apparel industry
- Strong knowledge of fit, patternmaking, garment construction, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in 2D patternmaking software (Optitex, Gerber, Clo, or Browzwear), Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to lead fit sessions, identify fit issues, and communicate actionable feedback
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and hands-on team player with a “no-task-too-small” attitude
Preferred Experience:
- 3D patternmaking software experience (Clo or Browzwear preferred)
- Experience working across multiple product types (e.g., woven bottoms, knits, outerwear, sweaters) and end uses (men’s, women’s, youth/toddler)
- Proven success in mentoring junior team members and enhancing cross-functional collaboration
- Passion for premium performance product design and staying ahead of industry trends in fit, technology, and fabric innovation
