Senior Manager, Product Development – Hair & Skin Care

Full Time - On-Site - Greenwich, CT

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager, Product Development, to lead the creation and commercialization of innovative hair care and skincare products. This is a high-impact leadership role for a product development professional who brings strong technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to guide complex initiatives from concept through launch.

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end product development across multiple categories, partnering with internal teams, external laboratories, contract manufacturers, and key stakeholders to bring high-performance products to market. You will play a central role in shaping product pipelines, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, and ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, treatments, scalp care, and styling solutions, while supporting skincare development as needed.
• Drive product development from ideation through commercialization across multiple categories and brands.
• Collaborate with R&D, packaging, manufacturing, regulatory, and marketing teams to deliver products that meet performance, cost, quality, and sustainability objectives.
• Manage multiple concurrent launches, including timelines, budgets, deliverables, and risk mitigation.
• Review formulas, product submissions, cost estimates, BOMs, and testing plans to support successful launches and replenishment programs.
• Present product concepts, ingredient innovations, and emerging technologies to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide leadership to cross-functional teams and external partners, fostering accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Product Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7 years of product development experience, ideally within beauty, personal care, skincare, hair care, or consumer goods.
• Strong knowledge of formulations, raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable language.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and project management tools; familiarity with PLM systems such as Asana is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based Monday through Friday in Greenwich, Connecticut.
