On-Air Scheduling Coordinator
Location: Centennial, CO or Stamford, CT (On-site)
Pay Rate: $24.48/hour
Schedule: Full-time with flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support a 24/7 broadcast operation.
Position Overview
The On-Air Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate on-air playout schedules across linear and digital broadcast platforms. This role serves as the primary liaison between On-Air Operations, Commercial Operations, and Program Operations to ensure programming and commercial playlists are scheduled correctly for continuous 24/7 broadcasting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain air-ready schedules and program formats for linear and digital broadcast platforms using proprietary scheduling systems.
- Coordinate scheduling and reprocessing of time-sensitive programming to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 network operations.
- Perform traffic comparisons and implement schedule or formatting updates resulting from programming changes, commercial adjustments, or operational requirements.
- Schedule program clearances by organizing and distributing orders to owned and affiliate broadcast stations.
- Utilize broadcast scheduling systems including TLL, Webscheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlite.
- Execute contingency scheduling for live sports, delayed broadcasts, filler programming, and schedule adjustments to keep networks on time.
- Validate broadcast playlists to ensure accurate resource allocation and hardware assignments before air.
- Assist with troubleshooting scheduling issues and operational challenges as needed.
- Collaborate closely with programming, traffic, and operations teams to maintain accurate and reliable broadcast schedules.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience in a 24/7 broadcast or media operations environment preferred.
- Experience working with broadcast automation or scheduling systems is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to quickly learn new scheduling software and operational systems.
- Experience with or willingness to learn broadcast scheduling platforms such as TLL, Webscheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlite.
