We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Des Moines team. This is a hands-on support role that helps keep daily freight operations moving. You may assist with customer communication, order entry, shipment updates, basic load planning, driver communication, and warehouse coordination.
This is a great fit for someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, comfortable using computers, and willing to help wherever needed.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with daily load planning, freight manifesting, route setup, and outbound preparation.
- Review volume, route paperwork, staging, and bill of ladings to support efficient driver loading.
- Track freight movement and linehaul activity across terminals; communicate updates or delays.
- Support delivery finalization by reviewing proof of deliveries, scanning data, and freight exceptions.
- Assist with researching, resolving, or escalating discrepancies and delivery issues.
- Respond to customer calls and emails in a timely, calm, professional, and helpful manner.
What You Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, customer service, dispatch, call center, or administrative support preferred.
- Exposure to load planning, routing, freight movement, order entry, or TMS/operational platforms preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and follow-through.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to manage calls, emails, system updates, and operational requests.
- Ability to stay calm and professional when customers, drivers, or team members are stressed or upset.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Outlook.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to research, resolve, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Flexible team player with a willingness to learn, adapt, and jump in where support is needed.
Schedule:
This is a full time, day shift position, typically scheduled Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility is required, as daily start and end times may vary based on business volume and operational needs.
