Overall Position Summary and Objectives:
Develop and implement updates to extramural research policies, resources and training materials on NINDS Intranet, ensuring content supports the unique scientific needs of NINDS-specific and NINDS-led trans-NIH Initiatives. Draft, Edit and Publish Standard Operating Procedures for multiple Extramural Research Operations and Processes as they apply to research-specific issues and review them in consultation with relevant NINDS staff to ensure that the materials meet both scientific and policy needs. Assist DEA with documenting, implementing and coordinating follow-up on actionable items resulting from monthly Operations meetings to improve impact and efficiency of the extramural research workflow.

Statement of Work Details :
Researches and evaluates the operation of the organization's scientific programs:
- Work with staff on existing projects and/or the development, initiation and execution of new project initiatives
Researches, interprets and summarizes background materials from a variety of scientific sources:
- Read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources for presentation.
Compiles data and creates and prepares graphs, slides and presentations:
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedures and Guidance documentation / Training Materials relevant to Research Operations
Performs logistical planning of various scientific meetings, lectures, workshops:
- Coordinate with extramural operation colleagues to plan and attend meetings and training sessions, maintaining centralized resources that track key issues, action items and extramural updates 2
Plans, organizes and participates at a senior level in technical meetings and consultations:
- Prepare and give formal presentations for division leadership and other interest groups.
- Give regular progress reports to sponsor and stakeholders.
Reviews and evaluates the performance of the organization:
- Ensure all aspects of SOP development are tracked and reported, key deliverable dates are known and adhered to, and all involved parties are kept appraised of progress of integrated tasks and next steps.
Analyzes existing scientific programs and makes recommendations for improvement:
- Develop a plan to improve the outreach, education, and interaction strategies of the Branch.
- Review extramural activities and workflows related to internal systems and/or enterprise systems, to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement
Develops and prepares various scientific reports:
- Organize, develop and maintain a repository of resources, including PowerPoint presentations, meeting minutes, reports, spreadsheets and web pages related to Extramural operations.
- Develops and implements new scientific programs in order to fulfill organizational goals and objectives. Work with the Office of Communications and Public Liaison to achieve the communications goals.
Develops and maintains clinical database:
- Develop and maintain website content, Teams Channels and information databases (e.g. SharePoint sites) related to extramural operations.
