Multimedia Content Specialist/ Marketing Specialist - Hybrid

Position Overview

• The Multimedia Content Specialist is a creative professional with expertise in graphic design, photography, and video production, capable of developing compelling visual content that communicates stories effectively. This role will support the Rhode Island Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) by creating engaging multimedia materials that inform rural residents, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders about program initiatives, progress, and achievements.
• Working collaboratively with RHTP program leads and the Communications team, the Multimedia Content Specialist will provide creative and communications support across the program’s 13-initiative portfolio. Key responsibilities include designing reports and publications, producing social media content and promotional materials, capturing and editing photography and video, and maintaining website content. All deliverables will align with the RHTP Communications Plan, established branding guidelines, and digital content calendar.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design and Report Production — 50%

• Develop visually engaging graphics and communication materials that adhere to RHTP branding guidelines, including social media assets, digital content, flyers, brochures, tri-folds, event signage, and other program-related materials.
• Design, format, and finalize reports, publications, and other print and digital deliverables for individual projects and program-wide initiatives.
• Coordinate printing and production processes to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality publications and materials.
• Review and edit written content for accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and appropriate reading level.
• Ensure flyers, reports, and other communication materials meet accessibility standards and requirements.

Photography and Video Production — 40%

• Capture high-quality photographs at outreach events, program activities, stakeholder engagements, and other assigned events.
• Plan, shoot, and edit videos that highlight program initiatives, project milestones, community outreach efforts, and program impact.
• Produce multimedia content for digital communications campaigns, social media platforms, and traditional media distribution.
• Collaborate with program teams and Communications staff to develop visual storytelling materials that effectively communicate RHTP activities and outcomes.

Website Content Management — 10%

• Upload and publish articles, photographs, videos, and other multimedia content through the program’s website content management system.
• Update website content in response to requests from program teams and ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible.
• Conduct routine website audits and support ongoing content maintenance and quality assurance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support program communications and outreach objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least four years of professional experience in graphic design, photography, and video production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, or equivalent design and multimedia production tools.
• A professional portfolio demonstrating original graphic design, photography, and video editing projects.
• Experience using Drupal or other website content management systems.
• Strong written communication and editing skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and visual consistency.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with program teams and communications professionals.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout Rhode Island for events and video or photography assignments.
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by program activities and event schedules.
