Summary: As an Account Executive for MI Local Media, you will be the face of a fast-growing, high-profile news group—responsible for helping local businesses tap into the largest, most engaged daily-newspaper audience in metro Detroit. Your territory will cover our portfolio of established titles including the Oakland Press, Macomb Daily, News Herald, Dearborn Press & Guide plus the powerhouse Detroit News joining the lineup at year-end. You’ll sell a full suite of print and digital solutions, including our www.adtaxi.com suite and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to execution. You will also foster and grow both new and existing accounts—while sharing in the excitement of shaping a brand-new media network built to win. What you will do: Relationship Management: Nurture and expand existing client relationships to maximize revenue and ensure long-term satisfaction Drive New Business: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new accounts in your assigned territory, utilizing a variety of proven prospecting techniques Consultative Selling: Understand client objectives and challenges, and present compelling solutions using your deep knowledge of our products and the competitive landscape Multi-Channel Expertise: Sell across our integrated suite of print and digital platforms, plus our 1st in class Adtaxi internal agency - including display advertising, social media, targeted email, SEM and more Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with internal teams (sales support, marketing, etc.) to ensure flawless campaign execution and client success What you will bring: Proven Sales Success: A track record of exceeding targets in a B2B sales environment, ideally with experience in media or advertising Hunter Mentality: A self-starter who thrives on prospecting and generating new leads Digital Savvy: Comfortable navigating digital marketing concepts and eager to master our evolving product suite Consultative Approach: Ability to build rapport, understand client needs, and tailor solutions Excellent Communication: Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills Who we are: MI Local Media (pronounced “My Local Media”) is the newly formed media group that unites the most trusted local news brands across metro Detroit—including community papers such as The News-Herald and Dearborn Press & Guide—and will welcome the iconic Detroit News at the end of 2025.
