As part of our next growth phase, we are expanding our New Jersey presence under the 856Secure brand. We already serve customers in the NJ market and are now seeking a seasoned leader to stabilize, scale, and ultimately own the success of this market from both an operational and financial standpoint.
This is not a “branch manager” role. This is an opportunity to run a business within a business.
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on General Manager with a 4-year college degree and deep experience in the security industry to lead all aspects of our New Jersey operations. This individual will be fully accountable for sales, operations, system design, quoting, field execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance of the NJ market.

What You’ll OwnMarket Leadership & Gross Profit Margin Accountability
- Full responsibility for the performance, growth, and stability of the New Jersey market under the 856Secure brand.
- Ownership of revenue growth, gross margin, operational efficiency, and customer retention.
- Execution of annual business plans aligned with company-wide standards and goals.
Sales & Business Development
- Lead all sales efforts in the NJ market, including direct selling, relationship development, and strategic account management.
- Grow existing customer relationships while developing new business across commercial and multifamily clients.
- Ensure pricing discipline, profitable deal structure, and accurate forecasting.
System Design & Quoting
- Personally design low-voltage security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion, life safety, etc.).
- Develop and review detailed quotations and proposals, ensuring technical accuracy and margin targets.
- Serve as the technical authority for complex or high-value opportunities.
Operations & Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and lead technicians and support staff as the market grows.
- Establish and enforce installation quality standards, service expectations, and safety compliance.
- Build a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and customer-first execution.
Hands-On Field Leadership
- Perform field technician work as needed, including installations, troubleshooting, testing, and system commissioning.
- Support and mentor technicians through direct field involvement.
- Step in during escalations, critical projects, or staffing gaps to ensure delivery excellence.
Strategic Growth & Execution
- Identify opportunities to expand services, increase RMR, and improve operational leverage.
- Implement company processes, tools, and reporting standards while tailoring execution to the local market.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term growth strategy and capital planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year college degree required).
- Extensive experience in the security / low-voltage industry, with demonstrated success in:
- Sales and business development
- System design and estimating
- Operations and field execution
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
- Strong financial and business acumen with comfort owning results.
- Willingness and ability to perform hands-on field work.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the NJ market.
