Environmental Engineer/Geologist

Job Summary

212 Environmental is looking for a professional for the role of Environmental Engineer or Geologist at a remediation site located approximately 30 minutes east of St. Louis, Missouri. This is a full-time, entry-level position with an expectation of being able to work independently within a small, focused team. Effective communication skills, positive attitude, and the ability to adapt and learn new things quickly are critical for success within 212 Environmental. Responsibilities

• Planning and overseeing field work, including monitoring and maintaining recovery wells, as well as collecting vapor, water, and soil samples for compliance purposes
• Conducting routine groundwater monitoring activities
• Performing routine and non-routine vapor monitoring within residential and commercial structures
• Providing oversight for subcontractors during pilot testing and implementation of remediation technologies
• Preparing technical reports and workplans in collaboration with senior staff
• Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data to evaluate human health
• Stewarding health and safety programs
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in on-site settings.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or related discipline is required
• Between 0 and 2 years of experience in environmental monitoring including groundwater, soil and vapor sampling
• Possess or have the ability to obtain a 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
• Proficient with various hand and power tools
• Ability to independently lift up to 50 pounds and work continuously outdoors including during inclement weather
• Problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset to address technical challenges
• Strong communication and partnership skills to enable seamless collaboration with colleagues and others working inside and outside the project team

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
