Role Description The Housing Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading 211 LA’s housing-related programs, services, and partnerships. This role oversees the strategy, design, and implementation of housing initiatives that connect individuals and families with stable, safe, and appropriate housing resources. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing housing program operations, supervising and coaching housing services staff, and ensuring service quality, data integrity, and compliance with contracts and regulations. The Housing Director collaborates with community partners, funders, and public agencies to build and sustain housing networks, identify gaps in services, and advocate for systems-level improvements. The role also involves monitoring program performance, preparing reports, contributing to grant proposals, supporting budgeting and resource allocation, and using data insights to guide continuous improvement and innovation in housing services.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management skills, including team supervision, performance management, and staff development within human services or housing-related programs.
- Strong expertise in housing and homelessness services, including knowledge of local housing resources, coordinated entry systems, landlord engagement, and supportive services models.
- Experience with program design, implementation, and evaluation, including setting goals, developing workflows, and using data and metrics to monitor outcomes.
- Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with community-based organizations, government agencies, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, public speaking, and the ability to represent the organization in meetings and public forums.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with information and referral systems, case management or care coordination platforms, and secure data practices; experience with 2-1-1 or similar systems is a plus.
