We are excited to announce that we have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for a Principal Model Shop Specialist. This role reports to the Product Support Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Able to independently perform intermediate to advanced electronic assembly and rework on CCAs, PCBs and unit assemblies including small to fine pitched parts and connectors.
- Ability to generate, improvise, and provide feedback for work instructions with minimal input from engineer.
- Read and understand written diagrams, drawings, schematics, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and written rework instructions.
- Perform assembly and rework with minimal documentation, based on experience and verbal direction from engineers.
- Able to perform highly complex assembly and solder operations including hand screen solder paste and SMT reflow of circuit boards.
- Able to handle small precision tools and hardware and perform SMT and leaded component solder and cable assembly operations with and without magnification, including BGA rework.
- Able to verify proper work performed, detect opens and shorts, and inspect for workmanship and FOD.
- Follow IPC-A-610 electronic assembly workmanship and quality standards without guidance/supervision.
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures handling ESD sensitive and CCI equipment.
- Able to maintain a neat and organized work area with proper tools and materials.
- Perform Model Shop support functions including calibrating tools, operating and maintaining PCB rapid prototyping equipment, replenish and maintain supplies.
- Able to actively engage and work collaboratively with engineers to gather information and provide feedback.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities with minimal supervision.
- Work in a hands-on and team-oriented environment.
Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Fluent in English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; ASEE or equivalent desired but not required.
- IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 Standard Certification desired but not required.
- 7-12 years of experience as a circuit card assembler, rework specialist, or equivalent experience as an engineering technician.
- Able to read and understand circuit card documentation, including schematics, drawings, and bill of materials.
- Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
The hourly pay range for this role is $ 44.86 - $ 57.33 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 3%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.
