Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Heavy Equipment Operator based in Buxton, ME. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery, executing detailed excavation tasks, grading sites, and assisting with the installation of utilities such as septic systems and drainage systems. The role also includes inspecting and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting other team members to ensure project goals are met effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment, including excavators and other construction machinery
- Experience with equipment maintenance and routine inspections to ensure machinery functions properly
- Knowledge of excavation techniques, site grading, and earth-moving processes
- Familiarity with used equipment and an ability to assess its operational quality
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to industry-specific standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a construction environment
- Prior experience in small-scale commercial or residential excavation is highly beneficial
- Relevant certifications or licenses for heavy equipment operation preferred
