Building Location: East Range Hospice Department: 2874010 HOSPICE - EAST RANGE Job Description: Responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, supervise and coordinate the hospice care of patients in accordance with professional standards of nursing and policies and procedures of Essentia Health. Provides direct patient care to patients requiring care for medical, diagnostic and emergency conditions. RNs in Virginia Hospice are trained in multiple roles to provide compassionate care to patients on our hospice program. We serve patients within a 65 mile radius of Virginia and meet them wherever they are, in their home or in a facility. This position includes weekends and call responsibilities. Call is not routinely assigned but may be added per contract guidelines if a shift becomes vacant. Education Qualifications: Educational Requirements: BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing is required Required Qualifications: East Market: Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Certification/Licensure Requirements: Current nursing licensure in state (s) of employment. May be required to hold multiple state licensures, depending upon work location Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire East Market: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency Proof of current motor vehicle insurance Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in hospice, palliative care, home health care, emergency department, or critical care. Strong clinical skills in pain management and symptom control. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
