What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABA Behavior Consultant (Master's degree required) position at 2020 Behavior, LLC?
Behavior Consultant - Clinical Expertise Over "Pieces of Paper."
If you’re reading this, you’re probably exhausted by the corporate "billable hour" grind and tired of being treated like a revenue stream instead of a clinician. We’ve been there, and we’re done with it.
At 2020 Behavior, we cut out the bureaucracy to preserve conceptual integrity in our practice. We believe that true clinical expertise is developed through years of dedicated practice, not just by passing a standardized exam. While we are founded and run by BCBAs, we are looking for seasoned Behavior Consultants who value the science of behavior over the credentials of the industry.
We’re looking for a clinician ready to own their cases and focus on procedural fidelity. This role is perfect for a highly skilled ABA Supervisor or Program Manager who has the Master’s degree and the mileage, but doesn't want to play the "certification game" to do meaningful work.
Responsibilities
The expectation for the Behavior Consultant is deep, function-based work with minimal administrative burden. Your job is Applied Behavior Analysis and clinical excellence.
- Primary Interventionist: Serve as the lead clinician for a small average caseload of 2 clients (50% lower than the industry standard).
- Clinical Implementation: You will design and run all programming with a focus on procedural fidelity (e.g., PFA/SBT, FCT development). You aren't just a Program Supervisor on paper; you are in the room doing the work.
- Case Ownership: Independently manage client cases and conduct functional behavior assessments. We value your clinical intuition and experience more than administrative checkboxes.
- Caregiver Collaboration: Conduct regular caregiver meetings and training to ensure generalization and maintenance of skills.
- Minimal Administration: We limit Manager-level duties to 1 hour per week (if any), allowing maximum focus on the craft of behavior change.
- Professional Growth: Participate in dedicated 1:1 monthly peer coaching and clinical shaping sessions.
Qualifications
We are seeking a Behavior Consultant who prioritizes expertise and results.
- Education: Must possess a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Psychology, Education, or a related Mental Health field.
- Expertise > Certification: We do not require a BCBA certification for this role. We are looking for people who have the skills, the history of ABA practice, and a strong conceptual foundation.
- ABA Experience: Substantial previous experience in the field is a must. We value the "miles on the odometer"—whether that was as an RBT, a mid-level Supervisor, or a Program Coordinator.
- Prior Roles: Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Case Manager, or mid-level clinician is highly relevant.
- Availability: Consistent availability to work between the hours of 8 AM – 7 PM.
- Commitment to Ethics: A strong dedication to clinical quality and sustainable caseloads.
Compensation & Sustainability (The Reinforcers)
- Premium Pay: Hourly rate starts at $45/hour—a single, unified rate for all time (direct service, indirect work, and caregiver meetings). We pay for your expertise, not your acronyms.
- Full-Time Salary: Competitive salary options available for those billing 30 hours per week.
- Guaranteed Pay: Late Cancellations Covered—stability is not a variable here.
- Benefits: Health, Dental & Vision; Generous 401K match; PTO & Flexible Time Off; and above-average rates for mileage and drive time.
- Professional Development: Access to unlimited CEUs and internal Expert events (e.g., Dr. Hanley, Dr. LeBlanc).
- Team & Culture: Join seasoned BCBAs and fellow Behavior Consultants for research projects and Journal Club. Annual weekend retreat (with plus ones invited!).
- Sign-on Bonus: $500 Sign-on bonus for full-time positions.
