GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Act as nutritional consultant and resource to members of the health care team.
- Provides comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, Nutrition Diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes to patients, families, and associates.
- Coordinates various education programs and seminars on nutritional topics.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) required IF: Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential was obtained prior to January 1, 2024, AND Credential is active and issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Master's Degree required with Bachelor's in Dietetics or related field with completion of an ACEND-accredited DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) and supervised practice program (dietetic internship) IF: Initial registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is effective on or after January 1, 2024. Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak English; use and understand medical terminology.
- Follow oral and written instructions; perform arithmetic calculations.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Requires a relatively high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with medical, nursing and other health care professionals, patients, and their families.
