What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Technician (Disassembly, Reassembly & Light Repair) position at 2 DRAGON AUTO RECONDITIONING LLC?
We are looking for a reliable, mid-level Auto Body Technician to join our team. This role is perfect for a tech who has a few years under their belt and excels at the "technical puzzle" of collision repair. You will focus on the full lifecycle of a repair—from the initial teardown to the final reassembly—plus handle dent and scratch repairs.Note: This is a non-structural position. No welding or heavy frame pulling required.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Disassembly: Efficiently strip down damaged areas to help estimators identify all necessary parts and repairs.
- Non-Welding Body Work: Repair minor dents, surface scratches, and scuffs using industry-standard hand tools and stud-pullers (non-welded).
- Bolt-On Component Replacement: Swap out fenders, hoods, bumpers, and lights with a focus on perfect factory alignment.
- Plastic Repair: Fix cracked or scuffed bumper covers and trim pieces.
- Organized Reassembly: Put the vehicle back together after paint, ensuring all electronics work and panel gaps are consistent.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in an auto body shop environment.
- The Essentials: You should be comfortable using air tools, orbital sanders, and dent-pulling equipment.
- Organization: You take pride in a clean bay and a well-organized parts cart.
- Mechanical Knowledge: You know your way around clips, sensors, and basic bolt-on mechanical parts (radiators, etc.).
- Reliability: You show up on time and can follow a repair planner’s instructions with minimal hand-holding.
