We are currently looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented carpenters to join our close-knit team. Our projects are primarily commercial buildings ranging from the food service industry to medical clinics. SUMMARY
The Painter will be responsible for applying paint, stain, and other finishes to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and furniture. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and safety protocols, with the ability to work efficiently in both commercial and residential construction project environments. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn new things, and research material compatibilities, and application techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and patching holes or imperfections.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to a variety of surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Ensure all work is completed with attention to detail and in line with safety regulations.
- Protect furniture, flooring, and other areas from paint splatters by using drop cloths or plastic and/or paper masking.
- Inspect completed work to ensure smooth and consistent application, making touch-ups when necessary.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.
- Communicate with the crew lead or supervisor to understand the scope of each job and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment after use.
- Report any issues or delays to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Adhere to the safety protocols for the project and work in a drug-free environment.
Education & Required Skills
- Proven experience as a painter or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work with a variety of paints, stains, and finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle tasks such as lifting equipment and working at heights.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable for traveling between job sites).
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Computer proficient with the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
- Exposure to chemicals and materials commonly used in painting, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Employee will occasionally assist in transporting materials from DD&C main office to the job site.
- Employee will on occasion work 2nd shift during construction stage/phase changes.
Work Environment
- Work is typically performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with potential exposure to various weather conditions and environments.
- All employee’s must have their own PP&E, painter white pants, and work shirts. Work Shirts will be supplemented with company provided and branded shirts.
Employee may be required to work occasional weekend shift to meet project deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
