Role Overview
Design, prototype, and deliver the electromechanical systems that let our Neo move, grasp, and last. From junior to staff, own subsystems end-to-end: concept detail design test iterate volume production.
- Design mechanical parts and electromechanical subsystems (frames, limbs, joints, power transmission systems, etc)
- Perform structural FEA to reach optimum stiffness to weight ratio and achieve our fatigue life criteria
- Select and integrate motors, sensors, PCBAs, cabling…
- DFx: manufacturability, assembly, cost, serviceability
- Build and break prototypes, iterate quickly
Must-Have
- BS/MS Mechanical Engineering
- CAD software fluency
- Strong fundamentals of structural mechanics
- Hands-on prototyping skills
- Structural FEA and G&T experience
- Has shipped at least 1 product
- 2 years experience
- Extensive bearing selection experience
Nice-to-Have
- Robotics or consumer hardware volume production
- Ansys, injection molding, die casting, machining
- Bearing selection experience
