Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Assistant to join their accounting team and support the overall financial operations of their organization. The Senior Accounting Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, internal audits, and the preparation of financial reports. This individual will also oversee accounts payable, and deposit processes. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Preparing and posting journal entries; reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts
· Leading internal audit efforts to ensure compliance and accuracy
· Managing clearing, suspense, and payable accounts
· Preparing and analyzing quarterly, annual, and supplemental financial reports
· Maintaining fixed asset systems and annual 1099 reconciliation
· Supporting regulatory filings and financial documentation
· Acting as a backup to team members and supporting other accounting-related projects
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
· CPA license preferred, but not required
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
· Ability to analyze and explain financial data clearly
· Exceptional organization, accuracy, and communication skills
· Able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
· Must be bondable and pass a drug screening
