A local and very well established company in Fayetteville, AR is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join their team. The best person for the position will have experience in manufacturing, cost accounting and product depreciation experience, and general accounting practices as well.
Position Responsibilities:
· Assist with daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger updates.
· Prepare journal entries, maintain accurate financial records, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.
· Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports as directed by management.
· Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation.
Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Support
· Support inventory counts, variance analysis, and reconciliation activities.
· Assist with tracking raw materials, WIP, scrap, and finished goods data.
· Work closely with production and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies in inventory or costing.
· Help maintain accuracy of material cost, labor cost, and overhead allocations.
· Process invoices, match POs, and verify pricing and quantities.
· Prepare and send customer invoices; follow up on outstanding payments.
· Assist in maintaining vendor and customer files and resolving billing or payment issues.
Operational & Administrative Support
· Collaborate with production, warehouse, and purchasing departments to ensure financial accuracy across operations.
· Assist with internal controls, process improvements, and compliance initiatives.
· Provide general administrative support related to accounting functions.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Accounting degree not required if candidate has sufficient hands-on accounting experience (3-5 years preferred).
· Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, balancing, reconciliation).
· Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel (sorting, formulas, pivot tables preferred).
· High attention to detail with strong accuracy and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
· Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, MAS90, Oracle, or similar).
· Basic understanding of inventory accounting or cost accounting principles.
Salary : $50,000 - $75,000
