Under minimal supervision, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, uses independent judgment and knowledge based on experience to manage the Business lending and account opening process. Provides a high quality of service in greeting members, opening accounts, processing loans, cross-selling other credit union products and services and responding to member’s questions and problems with the ultimate goal of becoming the member’s PFI (Primary Financial Institution).


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Opens business accounts for all branches. Responsible for all credit union products and services associated with these accounts with the goal providing a one stop member experience. Occasionally, opens consumer accounts to help balance workloads.
  • Assists Business Loan Officers by researching problems related to business loans.
  • Consistently listens to members, looking for ways to help members identify and satisfy their financial needs by cross-selling credit union products and services.
  • Receives business loan requests in person, by telephone, online, or through a loan officer. Reviews submitted loan applications to ensure required financial information is current, meets policy requirements and that all information is complete before further loan processing commences. Pulls credit on prospective borrowers, if needed, uploads all documents to nCino and advances loan stages when applicable. Communicates with borrowers and applicants as needed for any missing documents. Sends adverse action notices for declined loans.
  • Sets up and maintains data on business relationships, contacts, loans, collateral and covenant screens in nCino. Requests outdated financial information as needed.  Corresponds with members regarding needed documentation, prints necessary forms, explains forms and terms to member, posts loan, disburses funds. Follows up on loan documents which have not been returned. Communicates with loan officer and member as necessary.
  • Touches base periodically as a customer service liaison for assigned loan relationships that aggregate between $250,000 to $500,000 to ensure member expectations are being met and or alert them to new products or services.
  • Monitors, with the help of nCino, business loans to ascertain that all documents, and computer records are accurate, up to date and complete.
  • Assures that all real estate documents (deed of trust, etc.) are properly recorded with the county clerk office in the county where the property is located.
  • Assures that all loans perfected with a UCC are up to date and expiring UCC’s are renewed before they expire.
  • Performs clerical work associated with providing business loan payoff information and releasing liens on business related loans. 
  • Receives telephone calls related to business accounts. Answers questions and research problems as requested. Works with loan officer to resolve problems or concern.
  • Performs a variety of clerical work related to business loans and accounts and provides clerical support to business loan officer(s). Examples include typing/word processing, producing reports, faxing, photocopying, completing forms, and updating other records not mentioned in nCino.
  • When applicable, obtains and enters the necessary HMDA data into nCino to maintain compliance.    
  • Assists in preparation of monthly reports to EVP Special Projects on outstanding balances condition of accounts.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Two years applicable public contact experience in customer service, preferably with at least one year in a financial institution.
