Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently.
- Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track stock levels accurately.
- Conduct stock stocking activities, including pallet jack operations and heavy lifting, to maintain organized storage areas.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, completing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform materials handling tasks related to manufacturing or construction supplies as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge for safe operation of heavy equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by following proper packaging procedures and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience demonstrating familiarity with inventory management systems (such as AS400) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proven ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely and efficiently.
- Experience in shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, and load & unload operations within a distribution or manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and materials handling.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues is a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience in warehouse management is desirable but not required; a strong team-oriented attitude is essential.
